A Houston firefighter who came upon a truck fire was forced to use the only liquid available to douse the flames: Beer.

Cpt. Craig Moreau and his wife were driving home when they saw the truck pulled over and the rear brakes were "flaming pretty good," radio station News 92 reported. He used an extinguisher from inside the truck, but the fire continued.

"I asked him what was inside and he said, 'Beer, it's all beer.' Just then, the inside tire exploded. I told him to open it up and hand me the beers as fast as he could. I shook them up, and popped a top one at a time until the fire was out and the brakes were cool. Thankfully they were tall-boys," Moreau wrote.

The beer was Coors Banquet, which became available in Canada in October. Using that beer might have been OK for Moreau, who says he is a dark beer fan.
