Man claims to be undercover cop at bar, asks for drugs

CALGARY - So a man walks into a bar and he has a gun.

He tells people itís OK, heís an undercover cop and by the way, does anyone happen to have any drugs?

The real police soon provided the punchline, arresting the man at 12:45 a.m. Saturday at Hazzard County Bar in Sylvan Lake, located 150 km north of Calgary.

The man has been charged with careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a restricted firearm at an unauthorized place, impersonating a peace officer and refusing to provide breath samples.

Cops allege the suspect was impaired at the time.

Christopher Glen Smith, 32, is slated to appear in court in Red Deer March 25.
