CALGARY -- Stephen Charles Bridal was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to robbing a Calgary pub.

But unlike most such crimes, Bridal appeared in no hurry to get the job done or concerned about being identified.

Crown prosecutor Mike Ewenson said Bridal was captured on surveillance video committing the attempted heist last June 3 but also enjoying a beer before his crime.

"He sits there and has a beer and interacts with bar patrons for a period of time without any attempt to obscure his identity," Ewenson said.

"To call this offence unsophisticated and odd is an understatement," he said.
