TORONTO - Bambi’s day out ended remarkably well considering the year-old female deer took a dangerous stroll on the Gardiner Expressway amid long weekend traffic on Monday.

On the loose, the young doe shut down a section of the Gardiner, leading a Toronto Zoo veterinarian to get out his tranquilizer.

Once in custody, the fawn “appeared unharmed,” said Nicola Ware, an animal care and control officer from Toronto Animal Services.
