OTTAWA -- Public safety was at steak Sunday morning in Barrhaven, Ont.

A pair of cows had managed to break free of their confines and wander off into suburban Barrhaven. Police were called and found the moo-some two-some near the intersection of Jockvale and Greenbank roads, roughly in front of the Loblaws store.

Perhaps in an effort to cut out the middleman.

Police were able to round up the animals and moved them on, back to a nearby farm.

There were no injuries.

Barrhaven has been home to a host of animal-related calls recently. In addition to a spate of trouble with wild turkeys on Fallowfield Rd., Thursday a woman called firefighters for help after a "big black bird" found its way into her home daycare.
