SAINT-LAZARE, Que. — Another, more unusual fugitive was on the loose in Quebec on Monday.

Mirka, a female kangaroo from Ontario, hopped to freedom Sunday evening from the farm where it was kept.

The yearling is domesticated and harmless, owner Luc Lefebvre told QMI Agency.

He was using Mirka for pet therapy after borrowing the marsupial from Papanack Park Zoo in Wendover, Ont.

The animal is believed to have fled into the woods in the region near Quebec's border with Ontario.

Anyone who spots the young kangaroo is asked to call her owner at (514) 817-4994.
