EDMONTON -- If your name is Derrick and you are from Barrhead, Alta., then you may have been the target of a prank about fathering a child as a result of a tryst at last year's Big Valley Jamboree (BVJ).

A note posted on the message board at this year's BVJ and addressed to "Derrick -- Barrhead" read: "After last years (sic) meeting, I need to find you this year. April 2nd we had a son. His name is John, and he looks like you and is a happy boy. Please contact me on my cell phone."

The message was followed by two phone numbers of "Shelly B". The first number ending in 5653 spells "joke."

And that is all that the message was.

Dan Bohme told QMI Agency on Monday that it was his idea to leave the note for "pure entertainment."

He said that he received text messages and multiple calls after posting it. The note disappeared shortly after being posted.

"A text said, 'I want to see my kid'," Bohme said. "So then we scrounged up a picture of a cute little baby monkey and sent the picture and our message said, 'He has your ears.' He texted back 'Definitely mine'.
