A Chinese mother has given birth to a 13.8-lb. baby boy.

The baby was born Saturday by Caesarean section at the Chongji Maternity Hospital, the South China Morning Post reported.

He weighed as much as the average three-month-old.

The baby boy was the second for the 34-year-old mother, identified only as Tian.

While larger than normal, the baby is not a record-breaker. Guinness World Records says a 23.8 lb. baby was born to Nova Scotia-born Anna Bates in her Ohio home on Jan. 19, 1879.

That baby boy died 11 hours later.

Bates herself weighed 18 lbs. at birth and as an adult was 7-foot-5.5 tall.
