A U.K. judge has sentenced Gary Alcock to life in prison after he killed a 15-month-old girl for interrupting him while he was playing X-Box.
"You fractured two of her ribs either by squeezing or gripping her so tight that they snapped," Judge Clement Goldstone told him at Thursday's sentencing hearing, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail newspaper.
"You caused injuries to her brain, face, arms and legs with a combination of punches, slaps and, bordering on the sadistic, pinches.
"This was the way you chose to cope with a demanding little girl who demanded your attention and interrupted your time-consuming hobby of playing computer games."
The day she died, the judge said, Alcock struck the girl in the stomach hard enough to tear her internal organs. The Daily Mail reported that an ambulance was called to the house that night, but when emergency crews arrived the girl's lips were blue and cold. She died en-route to the hospital.
Alcock, 28, will serve a minimum of 21 years in prison. Claire Flanagan, the girls' mother, was cleared.
