An Ohio couple admitted Tuesday to stuffing their three children into plastic storage bins as punishment.

Prosecutor Jeff Bruzzese said the children, aged 5, 6, and 8, were put into the totes before the bins were sealed with duct tape, reported Wtov 9. Water was then poured into the bins through a small air hole.

Bruzzese said the kids were also forced to stand on their tiptoes with pins and needles under their heels.

Police began investigating after a visitor found the kids inside the bins at the Steubenville home last June.

The children are now living with relatives.

James and Samantha Taylor pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangerment and one count of unlawful restraint. He was sentenced to one year in jail. She was sentenced to two years probation.

The kids' uncles, Glenn Adams and Daniel McKenney, also pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint. The prosecutor said the men didn't abuse the kids but didn't stop it either.
