Stars weigh in on Pope's resignation
By QMI Agency

Pope Benedict XVI. REUTERS FILE

It might have been all seriousness in some circles, but Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg and other Twtiter users tried to see the funny side of Pope Benedict XVI's resignation.

The 85-year-old religious leader, who was elected Pope in 2005, is to retire within the next two weeks, making him the first head of the Catholic Church to step down in almost 600 years.

While people took to Twitter to weigh in on the news, a handful of comics took the chance to poke a little fun at the Pope.
