"Hello, Anna? It's Pope Francis."
An Italian woman was stunned when she answered the phone and heard the pontiff on the other end.
Anna Romano, 35, told Il Messaggero newspaper that she wrote to the Pope in July to tell him her story — that she had become pregnant by her fiance who turned out to already be married with a family of his own and told her to have an abortion.
Romano said Pope Francis told her that her baby is a gift from God and that she would never be alone, the newspaper reported.
Romano doesn't know the sex of her baby, but Pope Francis told her he thinks the baby will be a boy, and asked her what she planned to call him.
"Francis, obviously," Romano said.
