Australian officials have killed two crocodiles during their search for a 12-year-old boy who went missing while swimming in a national park on the weekend.
"It is believed the 12-year-old boy was taken by a crocodile as he and a number of other young boys were swimming," acting commander Michael White of the Northern Territory Police said in a press release.
Another boy was bitten on the arm, White said.
Sgt. Stephen Constable told the Australia Broadcasting Corporation two crocodiles were killed Monday, but neither had anything in their stomachs.
It's believed the crocodile that attacked the boys is between 2.5-3 metres long.
The boys were swimming in Kakadu National Park Sunday afternoon. The park was used as the setting for the 1986 movie Crocodile Dundee. It is Australia's largest national park.
