An Australia man survived a month in the bushland by eating butterflies, freshwater mussels and fruit.
Stephen Currie, 40, was discovered shirtless and shoeless Tuesday afternoon — three weeks after police had abandoned a search for him, the Courier-Mail newspaper reported.
Queensland police said Currie went missing Dec. 28 wearing only flip-flops, black shorts and a baseball cap.
Police used helicopters to try to search the area in Chillagoe that includes caves, ponds, old mine shafts and bushland, but failed to locate him.
Currie was located "safe and well" Tuesday after he flagged down a passing motorist on a dirt track. He was taken to hospital to be treated for dehydration and malnourishment, police said.
