A Florida girl's Facebook post has cost her father $80,000.

In 2011, Patrick Snay was awarded $80,000 in an out-of-court settlement after his contract with a prep school was not renewed, CNN reported.

Snay argued his job as headmaster was not renewed because of age discrimination, and officials at Gulliver Preparatory School agreed to pay him $10,000 in back pay and the $80,000 settlement.

After agreeing to the deal, Snay's daughter, who had been a student at the school, wrote on Facebook: "Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. Suck it."

The school argued Snay broke a confidentiality agreement about the settlement.

Last week, the Third District Court of Appeal for the State of Florida said Snay had violated confidentiality and had to repay the settlement cash.

The ruling said Snay's daughter "did precisely what the confidentiality agreement was designed to prevent" by informing the Gulliver community about the settlement.
