The body of an Australian man snatched from a boat by a crocodile as his family watched was found inside the reptile's belly.

The 62-year-old man was in the boat with his wife, son and daughter-in-law on a pond in Australia's Kakadu National Park when the 4.7-metre saltwater crocodile -- the largest of living reptiles -- attacked on Saturday, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The family from Darwin, on a camping trip in the remote area at the time, contacted police who on Sunday shot and killed two crocodiles about 1.5 kilometres from where the man was grabbed and dragged away, the Morning Herald reported.

The missing man was found inside one of the crocs.
