Before boarding the Malaysian Airlines flight that was reportedly shot down over Ukraine on Thursday, one passenger made an eerily accurate joke on Facebook.

Cor Pan, heading on a vacation to Kuala Lumpur, snapped a picture of the Boeing 777 and captioned it in Dutch: "If this plane disappears, this is what it looks like."

Pan was seemingly making a reference to MH370, the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared in March.

The first few responses to the post included things like, "Have a great vacation, dude!" and "Happy Holidays!"

But after news broke that Malaysian Airlines had lost contact with flight MH17 and that it had crashed over eastern Ukraine, the comments took a turn for the tragic. "It gives me chills," one person wrote.

Ukraine accused "terrorists" -- militants fighting to unite eastern Ukraine with Russia -- of shooting down the plane and killing all 295 people aboard.

Leaders of the rebel Donetsk People's Republic have denied any involvement.
