An L.A. woman in labour was prevented from crossing the street to get to a nearby hospital thanks to U.S. President Barack Obama’s motorcade.

According to conservative blog The Blaze, the woman had to wait 30 minutes for Obama’s motorcade to pass by on Wednesday.

Robert Kovacik, a reporter for KNBC-TV, filmed the incident and posted it on his Instagram account with the description: #Obama: Woman in labor on bench as motorcade passes; not allowed to cross street to get to #CedarsSinai.

"I felt bad for her," witness Carrie Clifford tole TheBlaze. ”It does happen when Obama comes to L.A. or I’m sure anywhere else. It paralyzes the city, it does make it complicated.”

Clifford snapped a photo of medics attending to the woman and left before the incident has been resolved.

As of Thursday morning, KNBC-TV said they had no word on whether the baby had been born.
