1. Explained: Ebola

There’s lots of headlines about Ebola lately, as Africa suffers its worst outbreak in nearly a decade.

There is no cure, and 90% who catch it don’t survive. It spreads through bodily fluids.

2. Blue Jays in sweet sweep

Canada’s baseball team has had a very up and down season. Right now, however, things are on an upswing, with the Blue Jays catching a solid 6-1 victory last night to win a series against the Boston Red Sox.

Despite everything, the Jays are second in their division, and next week in Toronto, they take on the AL-East leading Baltimore Orioles.

Tonight, however, they’ll be in Houston to kick off a four-game series against the Astros.


3. Deadmau5 visits Rob Ford

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has friends everywhere, apparently. He went for a Tim Hortons run with Deadmau5 in the musician's "Purrari" the other day.

Ford had five espressos in one cup. Deadmau5 had a double-double. The trip was featured on his YouTube series, Coffee (Coffe?) run.


4. Production on ‘Big Bang’ stalled

Revenge of the Nerds! The stars of the Big Bang Theory are holding up production of season eight as the renegotiate their contracts. No need to read between the lines here - they want more money, as the show generates big bucks for CBS.

The series is set to return to TV on Sept. 22.
