Girl's auction raises more than $10,000

WOODSTOCK, Ont. (CP) — A six-year-old girl who put a drawing up for auction on EBay to raise funds for tsunami victims has sold it for more than $10,000, CITY TV News reported.

Samantha Bakker of Woodstock, Ont., said she will donate the proceeds to people who lost their homes in the disaster.

Her drawing, a colourful picture of a globe surrounded by hearts, opened bidding at just one cent.

The winning bid of $10,100 dollars was cast before the online auction ended Tuesday night.

No word yet on the identity of the bidder.
